Utilizing Subreports within crystal

I haven't had much exposure to crystal in the last few years (and i have none outsice of a VB developmental environemnt) but I am back using it again at work and am having trouble using certain features of the product. I am trying to make one massive report for my manager from a bunch of smaller reports. However whenever I try to append a report, the original report on the form gets totally skewn all over the page and the subreport that I am adding gets put on to the page twice for some reason. I am using crystal 9. Can anyone recommend something for me to try to fix this? thanks!

In what section (Group Header, Details, Group Footer etc) is the subreport? Its best to place the subreport into its own section.
