highest version of dx that works with NT?

what is the highest version of dx that works with NT4.00.1381?

Not sure if this actually helps, but I think DX 6 works if you have NT Service Pack 6. Bit dodgy though from what I've heard (not from completely reliable sources mind).

I don't know about that one. But I know for sure that directx3 works with NT only if you have NT service pack 3 or above.

If you have NT5 (windows 2000 :).. then dx7 worx too...
