I know this isn't a coding question, but this is the forum everyone seems to look at the most.
Has anyone used the LindowsOS? If so, what do you think of it. I've never used linux but want to learn how, and was wondering if maybe i should look into LindowsOS, i mean i know it's not like other Linux/Unix OSs, but just wondering all the same;)
Lycoris is a Linux OS very much like Windows
Its also free the last time I looked.
I dont think Lindows is...
Just get mandrake, both Gnome and KDE looks and feels like windows, so you just need to learn the terminal commands... You could use Red Hat as well...Quote:

Lindows sounds like it failed
Just slap XPDE onto any Linux distro...voila. Windows :p
Lindows isn't free, however I DID post a coupon code here so anyone could get it for free, but no one even replied to that.
Lindows has a better packaging system than Mandrake and Redhat combined. You click on a program out of thousands and BOOM, it's installed! It's similar to mandrake, but is alot easier to use and has better driver support.

Lindows, to put it lightly, is utter ****, there is nothing special about it, all they WERE going to do was implement Wine closer and trying and make it look like windows, how pointless trying to make an OS look like the ****est OS on the planet.
I did notice that kasracer, I would have paid $10 to get the boxed version for the hell of it (try and sell it on ebay etc :p) but it would have cost $70 delivery :/
Learning linux on the likes of redhat is phaff, you dont just jump into a GUI and go... OMFG IM USING LINUX, I R TEH LEET0R
start with gentoo, for beginners and the advanced :)

I use a GUI with gentoo, I use a GUI nearly all the time with a terminal emulator for command line when I need it.
