Bleeding hell.
I have been given someones old VB 5 code to fix.
It's supposed to print labels on a datamax label printer.
The problem is that you need to make use of the printers own built in language. I'm not suprised the last programmer gave up.
The Printer object does nothing.
Has anyone had to work with these wierd label printers ?
Where the hell should I start ?

sorry, just had to get that out of my system... I had a similar problem a few years ago, but with a Zebra label printer - no way would we allow anyone to buy another one like that!!
it had it's own language too, there was a label on the printer for "support", I rang and they sent me a large book.. it took me about 3 weeks to understand enough to get a simple label finished. :rolleyes:
If you cant find any decent web sites for it, I'd recommend contacting the manufacturer ;)
I'm not even sure how I should communicate.

I did some code with a Zebra label printer. It was connected to the pc via serial cable.
so I sent the zpl (zebra programming language) via the ms comm control.
The company I work for got the manual as a pdf so it was pretty easy to search for the necesary code.
