1. Wrong Forum
2. What did it say?
3. Windows version and PC specs

It could be that someone has turned on Disk Quotas for the HD you arte trying to access. To check, right, click the HD and click Quota and check if it's enabled. If it is click quote entries to see what your account is limited to and either turn off quotas for good or increase the limit if you can.

yup, you are right. there is Quota Tab in the HD properties.. however, when i check on the tab ... the Quota is not enabled.. therefore.... why is the computer still give me something like that?? that is the weird part..Quote:

In normal pcs that i encounter so far dont have that Quota Tab exist.... but why this ... how is it being enabled ?? is there any configuration on the hardware part? (i hope to completely remove that quota tab...) possible?
You are obviously using either Windows 2000 or XP. This is normal for these versions of Windows to display this tab and you can't remove it. Other versions of Windows don't have that tab, NT may though.

thanks for your reply... anyway i got one more question to ask.. i suspect its due to memory leak in application program ... Could that be the cause?
because when the quota thing happen , i do check on the memory percentage... it occupies 90% and when i close down those programs ..... the memory went back to 4-10% very slowly....
later on i restart the 2 programs again , the memory went up to 15%-20%.... Does it mean anything? As far as i know, that programs wont occupy that much of memory..... hhmmm...
Do you have any software to check for application memory leak?
(hopefully free)//... or other tools to check it myself?>
Unfortunatly i don't know of any programs that check for memory leaks. I usually just watch the usage and take into consideration what the program is and calculate if it's normal or not. One thing to do, is turn on the virtual memory display (Task Manager -> Processes Tab -> View -> Select Columns... -> Virtual Memory Size) If this value is very high, then yes it most probably is a memory leak.
BTW, what does the error message say?
although it is common.. but i am getting so pist off with it .. i leave the program on for a few days.. for the first 2-3 days ... it works fine.. then the when i try to say.. open a folder or explorer.. it will give me the error message stating
"not enough quota to perform the operation."
secondly, when i go to close down one of the vb6 program, it states that "path/file access error"
.....................................................
are the above could be the cause of memory leak?
or something else that i can tweak and solve???
ALL THE PRO , ARE WELCOME TO SOLVE THIS...
