File saved using SavePicture() doesn't open in MsPaint ?

Hi I used This method to save a selected image
in a rtf document as a BMP .......

        fMainForm.Picture6.Picture = Clipboard.GetData()
        fMainForm.Picture6.Refresh

        strHTML$ = strHTML$ & "<img src=object_" & Str(lngCurText) & ".bmp>"

The problem is it does not seem to be valid bmp file ......
But Windows Explorer shows the preview ........
