Still works here.
Back when I used Norton System Works, it actually disabled them for about a month (I wasn't using IE either) and then they came back.
They can be blocked quite easily :D

They are intermittent by design.
They do usually come and go at random. Just fresh a lot (if you haven't tried yet) and see it they come back.
Then you can rejoice at the ad merriment.

I give some leeway in Forum Feedback but some people are taking advantage of that to chat (and I'm not just talking about this thread). Can we cut back a bit on that please.
I currently don't have the "BOB" (big ad at top) right now either. I do have a banner ad on the bottom. Generally there are always ads in all of the available positions. Usually there is a 'house ad' when a 'sold' ad isn't present.
Becaue of this, like you, I am also kind of suprised that no ads are showing in the top position.
