Hi2All,
I saw an application called "Speed It Up" that releases the unwanted memory from the os and increased the memory availability for the os. How this application is freeing up the memory? Is there any API function to free the unwanted memory in the OS? I am keen in knowing that process? If anyone knows about this drop the lines here....

Um, as far as i know it is only possible to free up memory that your app put there in the first place. If it is possible it probably will heavily reside in the windows API, that program you mentioned might of bewn wrote in Delphi, C++ etc. If that is the case VB might not be able to perform such a stable task. Have you looked at www.planet-source-code.com for examples?
IIRC those type of memory freeing programs just allocate a load of memory, which causes the OS to put other data in the page file; the memory in then freed, so you end up with free space in RAM. Problem is that when the paged data is needed, it takes ages to access it.
