I have got AMD Athlon (1.7 ghz) at home and Intel P-IV (1.8 ghz) in the office. I think intel is over-rated and AMD provides you good value for money.

Perhaps not performance wise, but it would make you think twice if you are going to save your company's budget by buying AMD instead of INTEL. So maybe this is one case, where it does matter.

Considering the excelent performance by AMD processors, along with the low costs... I always recomend AMD. Intel seems like they are trying to make more of a name for themselves by pricing their processors higher. I dont know if is that or if its because management in general is poor, which results in higher prices. For me, over-pricing is a big turn off considering when I can go next door and get just as good, or better quality at lower costs.

This is exactly what I am talking about. We used to have Cyrix Processors cause they were cheaper, but now we have got AMD in our shop. Some local dealer gave us a great deal on AMD.
