Oh, and don't RUN the setup! Read the threads thoroughly, so you know what's going on.
Could you imagine... Brad runs it and wonders what's wrong? :p
Its amazing how SM doesn't even seem to understand what he did was wrong. However, many commercial products download spyware regularly, without the user being notified. Can't say he did anything innovative.
The post count is a handy Headsup on who's safe to download exe's from. All are suspect, however their's some users you can be safe to trust, and also Jamie or any of the active mods.
But Anyone else, some generally unknown users with less than a thousand posts is NOT to be blindly trusted, and if he's got less than 300, deserves at least a good tongue lashing. I think exe's should be unatachable by anyone with less than 200, but how can that truly be enforced? Renaming extensions, via by hand edit or by packaging makes it pretty much impossible.
Its been a while since we've seen a bannishment. Perhaps its time?
BTW, is there a thread or forum, a "Hall of Infamy" so to speak, of all the banned users, with their Avatar and a brief summary of what led to their bannishment?

Well, I'm no geographer, but I say we cane him.
:)
Sure it was innovative. About 13 people downloaded it, didn't they? :DQuote:

I don't think so, but that would be a great idea. We can't have a forum for this, but if anyone remembers all the bannings on VBF, they can start a thread. :afrog:Quote:

Uploading a Trojan/virus is about the worst violation of an acceptable usage policy that you can do.
SnakeMaker and his IP are now banned. If anyone finds copies of his executable or source code still linked to a message, please let a moderator or I know and we will remove it. I was going to delete his posts from the forum; however, I wanted to leave his admitance of posting a virus (and how to fix it) so that hotmail, gomez, and other sites/businesses would be able to confirm that he posted such a program.
