Under what circumstances would someone need to click the "log out" button?
If I click it, it tells me that I'm logged out, and all my cookies have been cleared. However, if I then click the user cp button, it shows me my user cp screen, without asking me to log back in. Or, "Log Out"==> jump to chit chat, and there I am, my UName is sitting up there with everyone else in visible mode in Chit Chat.
So, of what benefit is it?

Perhaps you'd use it if you have more than one user name.
I think he's trying to say that the 'log out' button doesn't work. There's been quite a few times where it didn't work for me, and I had to manually delete my cookies, however I just tried it and it worked.
Ever been to an internet cafe? ;) Someone might go to the library or somewhere else and login and it might have cookies enabled and you don't want anyone getting in. :wave:

but it could just be my work computer, even though it has all the new SP's.
It works fine on my home pc, running Windows 98. {Old, slow, never updated its service packs, old explorer, but it works!}

Ok. Whatever you did with that new Login area in the upper right fixed my logout problem.

Brad, Observing from what other user said on the other thread, it seems like that the problem mainly occurs when you have your password saved in 2 machine on the same network.Quote:

I can log out without any problem on my PC, but when i try to log out from my laptop(networed environment), i have the probem. I will try it in my other machine to see what it does.

It was an assumption, as few other people mentioned the same symptoms. :)

Having two machines on the same network would have nothing to do with it. It's simple cookie creation and deletion through PHP.
The point remains the same though: networked computers have nothing to do with it.Quote:
