This should do the trick
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/ce/downloads/ce20.asp
It's a pretty powerful DB for the Handheld. Have fun!
My question:
I've never been very fond of Pocket PCs and handhelds, so I was wondering, are they powerful enough for all the applications that we run on our laptops and PCs? I'm actually surprised there's a SQL Server for WinCE!
Well it's nowhere near as powerful as SQL Server proper but I found it to be an efficient way of storing data securely on the HH.
I never used the replication feature but it's supposed to be a handy way of keeping data synchronized with the server
I think the engine only consumes about 1MB of the HH memory.
Fungi, Thanks for replying...this may sound a stupid question...
but sql ce it very much new technology to me....Have you
got or could you supply me with a web site that I could use to
learn Sql CE Server...
Thanks

Actually I think you'll be pleasantly surprised to see how closely CE SQL resembles T-SQL. I think it's a true subset meaning same syntax but missing some of the more advanceed stuff.
I haven't coded for the handheld in over a year but back when I was devbuzz was the place to go for help. Almost as cool as vbforums!
Have fun :D
Thanks Fungi, It looks as though I am going to have loads of fun!

*gasp* Blasphemy! :eek:Quote:
I think I need a little help.....at the moment on my PC I have
active sync, SQL Server CE, EVB and IIS.....The HH scanner will
be used to connect to a DB on our SQL server download some info
and then write back to the DB.....Now to get all communicating
do I
a) Need to Install Sql Server CE on our SQL Server?
b) Do I need to setup something in IIS? if so what?
c) Do I need to create a SQL replication?
Thanks
