Create a menu structure with space between menu's

Hello,

Is it possible to create a menu "file" on the left of the mainmenu-item.
And a menu Options on the right of the mainmenu-item.

example:
File Blank space Blank Space Options
-Open
-Close -Exit


Options (This menu is on the right of the Last Blank space)
-Connect
-Disconnect

use a space and disable the buttons?

I tried to do this, but you can see te space that is created.
If you select a disabled menu, the color becomes less dark.
