Hardware
Ok..i know i'm not supposed to post this question in this forum..but..this is EXTREMELY urgent...
That "hurricane" that came through the northeast last weekend...blew up a transformer or something near my house and sent a surge through my house...one thing i lost was the power supply in my computer. I ordered another one (with memory, dvd drive, and 2 case fans). I just put the power supply in the case first..and powered it up a few times..and it worked. So i shut it down in windows...put the dvd drive and memory in (i put the case fans in before i powered it up the first time). When i tried powering it back up, nothing happened. No fans will turn on..nothing.. it's dead. I need to have it working this weekend for something. The switch in the back is on 115 volts. Also, it is one of those cheap ass $15 power supplies.
Any ideas how to get it working again?
Once again i know i am not supposed to post this in this forum but..any help is appreciated. Thanks.

(Unplug the fans) Unplug and re insert the power supply
lead of the Power Supply. Some power supplies have to be reset - and this is the method to acheive it.
Failing that (whilst the power cord is removed) check the fuse inside the Power Supply. If its blown, replace it, disconnect all hardware except the MotherBoard. Then re-insert the Power Cable and power-up. If successful, replace hardware an item at a time (shutting down each time of course).
Remember safety - Remove the Power Cord if the cover is off the Power Supply.
I'm hitting on safety as some readers may not be as knowledgeable as you, so please don't take any offence :)
