Although I'd say it's more of a sine wave.
when throwing anything that floats down into the water it'll "pop" up again with that kind of motion.

But if it's a parabola, then it's more of a flyby than an orbit isn't it? I mean I figured an orbit involves at least one full revolution.
I suppose segments of an elliptical orbit could be defined in terms of parabolas.
