Is there a way to set the IP adres of the local computer.
And to change the workgroupname?
I dont know how to change the IP Address, but can't u change to workgroup through the registry (but then you would have to restart the computer for changes to take effect).
do you know which key there should be changed to set the workgroup?
can anyone help me?
In Run from the start menu type "regedit" then when it pops up, click Edit>Search, then type "computer" or "computer name" and it will come up after a while, not sure of the exact location of it in the registry....i saw it in there one day....if need need anymore more help reply again...
I wasn't asking how to get or set the computername, I know how to do that, but the workgroup name.
I've read somewhere that this can't be canged in the registry unless you're using Win95/98. But I'm trying to change it in Win2000 and Xp. Isn'ty there any api-function or something else that can be used?
