I've tried Mandrake 9.0 and it's good . You need some tutorials to explore its secrets I blieve .
Yeah i would like to try somthing else besides WinXP. I also like the fact that it can automatically partition a Windows NTFS drive during setup somthing SuSE Lunix 8.1 can't do plus it comes with the latest Apache Web Server which is pretty cool. At $69 im tempted. :D
You can also download Mandrake Linux 9.1 for FREE but you need a high speed connection or a friend with one and a burner :D
 Dosen't anyone pay for software anymore? :D
I use RedHat 8.0. It is easy to install and use. But if you want to try linux once, download knoppix. It is a iso-image. If you burn it on CD, it is a bootable CD, which auto-starts linux, no installation needed. Nice to see if it is what you expect from Linux.
ppl pay for software??? I hope it doesnt become manditory!!!!Quote:

I use mandrake 9.1 as my day to day desktop machine, and have had no problems with it :)
You can do a network/internet install with Mandrake
no need to buy anything or download and burn (the installer once downloaded and runing will only download the files that you need for the options you chose)
Its the only way I install linux. my burner is to slow :(
For their to be free (pirated) software someone must first buy it then give it away so don't worry people will allways buy softwareQuote:

Not neccessarily true . Some companies release trial software for some period of time, crackers then release the cracked version next day with no time limit . Love that :)Quote:
