Hey,
I'm new to using Crystal Reports, populating it with a dataset seems to be fine. But I'm wondering how I can put conditions on this before I process the report? ie. I only want to show certain records and I want to eliminate repeating records...

This should be done when making the dataset that way only the data you need is passed to the report. Some things though can be done in the report be choosing different things in regards to the fields you use, but that is mainly sorting and totalling and things like that.
Still you can do filtering and apply conditions in report.
