Using a boot disk, or whatever means necessary, boot into DOS.
You have to edit your boot.ini file, and check for an entry that looks like this:
Work with the partition values, reboot after each change.Quote:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\winnt="Windows NT workstation"
Also, you'll find ntoskrnl.exe on the Windows 2000 CD. It has to be copied to c:/winnt/system32/ folder.
HTH
If your drives are NTFS you may have to use the Recovery Console
Another Option is repairing the Install
I can boot into dos but where do I find the boot.ini file?
I don't know about Win2K. Perhaps some other member here with Win2K can tell you.
My guess is C:/
you should also try C:/windows/
C:/windows/system32/
I found it, but how do I edit it?
Code:edit boot.ini
