What's the difference between USB, iLink and FireWire. I thought the only difference was that apple created FireWire, Sony iLink and USB being an open standard.
Anyone know the data transfer rates also? :p

Firewire = iLink = 1394 = "DV" (I believe the last one is a bit of a misnomer).
USB in its various incarnations are open like you said.
In terms of speed, USB2 (480 Mbits) > Firewire (400 Mbits) > USB (12 Mbits). IIRC.
Apple now has 800Mbit Firewire though.
IEEE 1394 #2 (3.2gbit, 1.6gbit, 800mbit) > USB #2 (480mbit) > IEEE 1394 (400mbit) > USB 1.1 (12mbit) > USB 1 (12mbit). USB 1.1 has less limitations on the number of devices and the power that can be drawn by said devices.
The faster Firewire 800 is included with the recent PowerMac G4's. Not sure if there are any FW800 cards for PCX users yet.
