How do i open a port in a firewall that is built into the router?
It all depends on maker and model of the router. Provide that and I'll give you the answer. Late, Jeremy
You can probably figure it out yourself. If you're using the standard 192.168.x.x networking IP rule, then go into your favourite browser and type http://192.168.1.1/. This will bring you to your router's config (you'll need to type in a password; the default is usually blank). Now, get your computer's IP address:Code:Windows 95/98/ME
Start -> Run -> winipcfg
And, find the rule set for port forwarding. Enter your IP address and the port range you want to forward. Apply it and you're done! Note that if you use DHCP now may be a good time to save the IP you have now, and not use it again. DHCP assigns a different IP every time and, dependant on your setup, you may be getting different IPs quite frequently.Code:Windows NT/2000/XP
Start -> Run -> cmd
ipconfig
