It's been awhile since I've ripped a CD, and thus have since deleted my software. Anybody have any good recommendations for a FREE ripping utility?

CloneCD is very good.
Ripped meaning what? MP3s? Or copying?
For MP3s there are tons of things that you can use. For copying, Nero is good, CloneCD is as well but CCD is more of a specialized tool while Nero does it all (almost).
Sorry. Ripping Mp3s, yes.
Nero isn't free. Nor do I want to find a special way to "make it" free.
Aww. :pQuote:

I found a crappy little program CDex or something. It worked for what I needed, but if I did this all the time, I definitely wouldn't recommend it.Quote:

I used to have an awesome piece of software for it, but can't remember the name at all. :(
Easy CD Creator? Its not that good though...
I don't recall much free CD Burning software for Windows. Linux has X-Roast or whatever its called though...
I have Easy CD Creator, but that's for burning CDs, not ripping.
I use that CDex too, its ok. If you find something good please back and let me know.
Exact Audio Copy is an excellent, excellent piece of freeware for Windows. For linux, there's of course the veritable cdparanoia.
i use music match 8
yeah it has a screen when you close it that tells you about the pay version... but the free version does everything i need it to do.. it rips cds real fast, uses cddb, and also can name tracks using many combinations of data (track number, artist, song name, etc)
