Not that the war did not have beneficial results, but if
WMD are not stirred up, heads had better roll.
well i wouldnt be quick to say they are there or not there... remember "IF" they are.. they were being hidden for some time before the war started...
go out side.. take a long look around... pretty big huh??? well Iraq is much bigger.. its only been a short time of searching if you think about it...
I'm not saying we should have had them already,
but, Mr. Bush needs to at least address this issue.
It's not going to just disappear by ignoring it.
I think Iraq did have them, but when the reason we went to war was
because of the threat of WMD, there needs to be more proof than
two spotless mobile labratories.
If no WMD is found, it leaves serious questions Bush must answer. If he can't answer them, and all those reports about intelligence manipulation turn out true, he could very well cost him the elections. (my blunt view).
As of now, I still believe that WMD exist and are hidden somewhere. It just doesnt make sense. All those years of hide and seek?
There is three different roads:
1. The weapons are still in Iraq.
2. The weapons have been sold or exported to another country or terrorist.
3. The weapons have been destroied.
This is a question that I doubt will be answered for some time to come.
Highlights:
1. They found some mobel labs recently. There can be only one use for those. This confirms the intel about mobel labs being used by Iraq.
This is a country twice as large as my state (Tennessee) being searched for objects that are as large as a van or small as a 24 oz mountain dew bottle. Do the math and you'll see this isnt going to be an overnight task.
2. It's possible they could have exported them to another country or terrorist. While not send them away till the sanctions are suspended or why not sell them and make more after the fact?
3. This possibility doesn't follow logic. Why would he destory these weapons and keep the destruction secret? The only purpose you would want to destory these weapons is to lift the sanctions and get rid of the threat of war.

I think we should have had them before we started the war. Colon Powell went before the UN and said "We know they have them". Great! Show up where then..... Cricket..... Cricket..... Where are they? With all the technology we have, they should have been found by now.Quote:

Yah i backed this war 100% and i still do. If nothing else we freed the Iraqui people and that was worth it IMO... even considering the soldiers we lost. Ofcourse that's easy for me to say since i wasn't related to any of them.
But that said, I wanna know where the **** those WMD's are. BUSH is seriously dropping the ball here and he better find out where they are since that was his whole reason for going to war.

To put it simply when the leaders of the world go to war with another nation simply because that nation is a threat to them it sets a new standard for the use of war. Now does India not have the right to go to war with Pakistan? Israel and Palestinians? Africa with Africa? etc. etc.
A war worth fighting should not be fought, but a war worth winning should be won.
my best friend for the past 12 years just found out today he is getting deployed to afghanistan on July 10th for 18-24 months...his wife is pregnant and due on July 15th!...he really doesn't want to go, he's afraid he won't return....but he knows he made a commitment to the military and he is going to honor it...even if it costs him his life.
I'm glad when I went to Desert Storm in '91 I didn't have a wife or child...it would have made going a whole lot harder...I can't imagine how he feels...I just hope he stays safe and returns healthy and in one piece.

One example of this is the discovery of certain nerve agents, bio weapon residue,and other "chemical" agents that people frequently disreguard as dangerous (aka harmful). Every western army has at least one bio warfare suit per soldier. Does this mean that they are intending to use them? No, I didn't think so.
As for the earlier point, I am stunned at your assumption of guilt without proof. Yes, Saddam was a nasty man, did this justify killing thousands of innocent Iraqi's? No, I didn't think so.
I am not professing that anyone is guilty before there is proof...It is just a basic fact that he lies, cheats, steals and mass attacks civilians. This is a very bad bad man.
Even so, his personal actions are in no means an explanation of what he does in public, however, he is well-known to hide weapons whenever it is at his convienience, as well as play the United Nations as a fool.
Saddam HAS turned over weapons.....however A: They were disallowed in the first place
B: Only after GREAT run-around and threat
C: UN weapons inspections suck.
D: He STILL had weapons that were "unaccounted for."

I don't think the war had anything to do with weapons of mass distruction. I don't think it had anything to do with Saddam. The middle east is very important to the west because of it's oil, and this was obviously a factor, but here is my theory about why the war in Iraq took place:
The US is very concerned about the breakdown of relationships with Saudi Arabia. They are concerned that the feeble Saudi monarchy will soon be overthrown, and the relationship will become much worse. The war on Iraq was an excuse to gain control of a very strategic piece of land in the middle east.
