Hey,
I have a new computer coming tomorrow but I'm planning on keeping this one in the hope of being able to connect the two together via what I believe is called a null modem or direct cable connection so that I can play multiplayer games.
Machine 1 runs Windows '98, whilst Machine 2 will run Windows XP.
Does the conflict in operating systems mean that such a connection won't be possible? And what additional hardware or cables, other than the null modem cable itself, may I require?
Thanking you in advance...
It's possible to get them connected but probably with more efforts . I mean you will face different kinds of problems and bugs but I would suggest to install XP on the first machine as possible . This way , you will find it very easy to connect them .
You need LAN cards with a network cable .
