Networking

I'm looking for networking help. Someone who can give me pointers on where to look for internships and/or entry-level job opportunities dealing with database administration. My current level of expertise is that of a novice. I've substituted for a beginning VB course at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland (CST171) on numerous ocassions at the request of my prior VB I and II professor. I currently work as a full-time employee in the IT department at Notre Dame in instructional computer support. The IT department here at the college is staffed by 14 full-time employees which leaves little room for job growth or cross-training and no room in applications. I'm passionate about the manipulation of data/information and feel that this is where I will be most beneficial. Any help would be greatly appreciated and not forgotten.
