We, the undersigned have seen this board go through a lot in the past. We have been here and seen changes: some for the betterment of the board, some that worsened it. The point of this petition is for you (the Administrative staff of vbforums.com) to hear us out. You do not solicit spam on your boards as part of the AUP.

The point of this petition should be utterly clear at this point, that if you will not abide by your own acceptable use policy, why should we? I ask all VBForums members in support of the removal of Dell ads and the removal of the Queue Magazine ads to sign the petition as part of a whole, "the undersigned".

The link of the Dell ad wasn't really a link, but the Queue ad is!
I'm wondering how long I'll spend my time on an ad-infested forum. Probably not long.
Banners are "acceptable", since they seem to be common all over the internet. But ad-posts... :mad:

If they can do it...then why can't I? I'm not even trying to get you to buy, subscribe, etc... to anything...I'm just offering a website to check out for any travelers who might be going through texas.

Agreed, so let's just see how hypocritcal they will be.

By posting the ads they have violated their own AUP and demonstrated that the rules don't apply to them, then by deleting a posts advertisement or link to a commercial website (such as I have done) they further demonstrate that this forum is not so much (if at all) about the users that post here, but about their own business politics and their own commerical agenda.

We can post ads, but the users can't is a clear misrepresentation of what this forum is/was all about (helping others with their problems) and more or less turned it into a billboard for their own financial gain. forgetting what makes/made this forum so popular..the USERS and the support offered by them to others.

Ok now don't get me wrong. That was beautiful and all, but I would edit that and add "and any future spam and adverstisements"

Fix the loophole because believe me. They will use it!

Well I don't think they're going to listen to us at any rate: I've put this up and they haven't even looked at it. So I doubt they'll even look at it, much less accept it, much less use a loophole :rolleyes:

Maybe, maybe not, but I'm sure the owners have noticed this thread and it can't hurt to have it here. Speaking for myself, if I were to protest I think this is the way I would do it.
