Is it ok to assume that all code on these forums in free distributable.
Say someone posts some code that I like, and I put in a program and sell it for big bucks.
Do I need to ask the poster before putting the code in a commercial product??

not really... unless the code happens to be already copyrighted by the user that posted it.. but the chance that someone is going to post source that is copyrighted is pretty slim... so is the chance you could sell anything we post for big bucks though :D
but the code for catching the click event of a combo box is pure genius. I would have never thought of that.:D
I think if they posted it, the copyright belongs to them. But most people posting stuff will put it up, assuming it then becomes PD.
half the stuff people post they didn't write anyway :rolleyes:
if it is released into the public domain with any copyright provisions accompanying it...then it can be considered free to use.
