Where is it (in terms distance from Dublin)? How large a city/town is it? Know anyone there?

About 3 or 4 hours drive away from Dublin.

Not visiting immediately, but may have to, should all things go well. The family of a person living and working there have asked my sis' hand. Nothing finalized or firm yet. Still very early days with chances of many a slip 'tween the cup and the lip. But looks like this match will go through. He is a physiotherapist there.

Whats "Stab City"? And he's not Irish.

I live in a place called Ballina/Killaloe, 15 miles outside Limerick. Dooradoyle is a suburb of limerick city. Reasonably respectable place, loads and loads of boxy houses and big shopping complex. In terms of air travel, Shannon airport is closest at about 25 minutes away.

Limerick people are sound on the whole, big into Rugby down this way. Apart from that, rain features heavilly most days...

Good jumping off spot for the west coast tho as its only 3/4 an hour by car. Galway is about an hour away by car.
