When I press CTRL+ALT+DEL in windows, in the 'Close Program' dialog box, there's often a lot (4+) of 'Winoldapp' tasks. I can delete those tasks and they don't seem to be doing anything apart from taking up minimal resources.
Has anyone else ever had these, and knows what causes them? I'm not sure if it could be caused by Visual Basic programs or anything.
One thing's for sure - it's not a virus. I've already done every virus scan known to man.

I don't think VB has got anything to do with it. You could always make a program that removes them automatically at startup ;)
Putting your VB knowledge to practical use :)

Well ....
Let me assure you, this has really nothing to do with VB!
:)
Well, I didn't mean your thread, but the problem you have mentioned. I have been using VB for the past 2 years or so, and (Well, let's be honest!) had to use Ctrl+Alt+Del quite a lot of times. I never saw the 'WinOldApp' that you mentioned.
Hope you find a solution soon, and remember to back up your data. From your post it looks as if you use Ctrl+Alt+Del to shut down instead of Start > Shutdown.

Check your startup folder, see what is being automatically started when you start up your pc. Also what version of winX do you have? I assume not NT, but 95? 98? and what ship release? 1, 2?
