I have two prefered packages which are dreamweaver3 (If i'm designing pages) from macromedia, and visual interdev 6 (If i'm making ASP pages) from microsoft. Generally I would design a page in dreamweaver then use interdev to rip it apart and put the ASP in the right places.
I have yet to find a better editor than interdev to do scripting in.
Right that's my pound's worth.

I like MS Frontpage,
Allaire Homesite is ok too.
but FP2k is the best IMO,
I would use HTML, you know write it myself, but I am too damn lazy, and front page is really good.
when I first started using it I thought it sucked, because I didnt really know how to use it,...... but after about an hour I got used it ;)
I use notepad and pure HTML. I occasionally move into Dreamweaver for some of the dynamic html and layout things. Other than that, it's much easier to organise your source on your own.
I also like Dreamweaver and Interdev. And for just quick hacks still havn't found anything to beat ultraedit.
I used a cracked version of dreamweaver once,
I didnt like it, after you wrote something like a H1, and in orange text, and center aligned, after you left aligned it with normal black text, every time I moved the cursor(with the arrow keys) I had to reset the formatting....
I deleted it off of my computer(like you should with warez 24 hours after.. etc.) because I didnt like it as much as my (legal) front page.
have any of you tried allaire homesite,
I didnt really get a chance to try it because I had to delete it off of my computer within 24 hours(it was cracked) but from what i saw it was pretty good.
so if you are gonna buy one I recomend front page or allaire homesite.
I agree with dennis, I have Frontpage 2000 too and I think it's awesome. It has several easy-to-use functions for using databases in your web site and everything. Although I really haven't ever tried any other commercial HTML editor I think frontpage just might blow them away, and if it doesn't give me a better one I'd gladly like to buy it.
