how to fire the keyup/keydown event in a datagrid

does anyone know how to get the keyup or keydown event to fire in a datagrid? I can't seem to get that event to fire and have no clue why.

I actually found some code to actually fix this. This was a problem my boss was having and I was researching it for him. Let me look for the code and as soon as I find it, i will send it to you.
