creating multiple text form instances in midi forms

ok i was wondering how i might go about being able to open more then one text file but using the one form i have for the opening text in the program or would i have to make like 15 forms with the same **** and program it to work with all 15?

is there a way to do it with just one?

this will open multy instance of the same form

With this you would need to make it generic enough to handle different file names etc.

Either that or have a main form and a file opening form which using the code in the post above you could duplicate.

ok now how do you get basic procedures to work with all the form instances i have there
like

Private Sub Form_Resize()
txtText.Width = Form1.Width - 300
txtText.Height = Form1.Height - 600
End Sub


when im using

Dim frm As New Form1
Dim frm2 As New Form1
frm.Show
frm2.Show

well all or which ever is currently selected.

conceptually, u could make like this:

Dim [B]WithEvents[/B] frm As New Form1
 
 
Private Sub Form_Resize()
    ' BLAH
End Sub
 
Private Sub frm_Resize()
    ' BLAH
End Sub

but it won't work.. bcoz u can't use WithEvents with New.. try to find a workaround for this..

can someone else help me? that procedure did not work.

use ME. instead of Form1., that way it will reference to the form the text box is on etc :)

ahh yes!!! thank your for being born wpearsall ive been trying to get this solved for days already didndt realize it was somthing that easy :D
