change & update value

Anyone to solve this problem of mine:

I have a small menu system, which has options of 1.select car type, 2.select car price, 3.change car price, etc.

When I select the 3. change car price option and want to change a car price how do i update the new changed price to show in option 2.

are these just variables or are you talking about changing and updating a GUI interface?
if it's for a GUI what is the component your using.
