ASP.net VB.net ADO.net

Should i just skip learning old ASP and jump right into ASP.net? Do all servers that support the old ASP also support ASP.net or does it require a special install aside from the .net framework?

If i buy VB.net Pro does it come with the .net framework that i can distribute? Like if i develope an asp.net website and the host only has the Old ASP installed would i just send them this framework.exe and they install it on thier server?:confused:

Also what are some Some really good begginner and advanced ASP.net and VB.net books that talk about DB programming with ADO.net?
