OK, this is really pissin me off, and i know u all have seen this before.
First off, i have:
VB6 32bit Version 8176
When i open a project and do object view, it crashes, When i add an About form, it crashes, and those are the only 2 instances where i know it WILL crash. Other than that, it crashes so many times i can not complete ANYTHING!
It says the memory could not be "read"
ive read some things, but i never find out how to fix it, HELP ME ASAP plz....

How about uninstalling VB and reinstalling back? If that won't help than try installing it on some other computer. If that won't help, back up your hard drive, format it, install clean windows and install VB back. And finally, if that won't help your VB is either corrupted or incomplete, in which case it's pirated.
I uninstalled and reinstalled, Still same deal. It will do it in Opera and Some other programs but rarely. On non-VB programs, it says data could not be "written" instead of the VB error, could not be "read".
And no its not pirated, its a student disk from skewl that are SUPPOSED to be put on our home computers.
ANYTHING ELSE?
Is it the first time your run this version ? What's OS ? Did you apply some SP(5.0 I guess).This maybe one of the problems.

im on XP, and i downloaded the SP6 update, still no luck.

it seemed to work fine for a few weeks, then not sure what i did, if anything, and opened up unfinished programs, and when i view object, BAM, crashes. Even when i hit the X to close the program, i get the error.
I hope its not my RAM, i doubt it, its Kingston 512 DDR.
I also, tried Enterprise Edition and it did the same thing. Im using VB6 Model Edition that was given to us at school, seems like they all give me the same problem.

Format is not an option right now, if that happens, id rather go to the public library and do it there.
when i install the full version i get to debug the error....
Blah blah in "0x004581f1" in 0x0000000 so and so
C++ disassembles that and at the memory address 0x004581f1 i get this
-> 004581F1 mov ecx,dword ptr [eax]
dont know how to debug that stuff, any ideas?
restore last time your system was working fine , or

is the only solution .Developers would use debugging to fix accidental mistakes did by programmers .(I guess).But it's impossible in your case anyways.
