How to know if a wave file is being played

Can anyone tell me How to know if a wave file is being played and when it is finished.

Use the Windows Media Player ocx. If you play it through the windows media player you can check for playstates as well as playstate changes. this will tell you if something is playing or is stopped. You can find out a lot about the state of the player.
