Remote Administration

Dear People,

This is Hari Krishna , First of all i would like to wish a happy new year and my problem is in my organistation almost 270 systems are there and i would like to configure remote admin in 270 systems and in those systems some systems having operating system nt4.0 and nt workstation and windows 2000 prof and advanced server and win98 and these all systems in four side by side offices .

Can anyone suggest me the solution for my problem that means whenever there is any problem is there with the help of remote admin i want to solve the problem instead of going there to eveyr office

Works on a LOT of operating systems.

Since you use only Windows you might want to check possibly better Windows-specific ones though.

I like to deveolp in my office, but have to test in the lab.
Trouble is, the lab is a 5 minute walk away (the building isn't well designed!)

RealVNC doesnt refresh often enough for me.
Can anyone recommend anything else?

A friend of mine works by Vector-Networks (www.vector-networks.com) and their PC-DUO software is superb.

sub7 works well i hear, as does the beast, www.areyoufearless.com.

Sub7...are you serious. Yeah sub7 works well if you want Norton and any other virus scanning software to quarantine it. If the network you are running uses any virus scanning software than sub7 is no way to go. As far as the beast goes I have no clue as to its potential. Anyways back in the day I used sub7(before detected by norton) and I really didnt think it was all that great.

There is a remote admin called NetOp, you COULD use Bo2K since it TECHNICALLY is ligit admin program, or buy a bunch of licenses for PC Anywhere. Idk..

What about Remote Administrator? I find that program EXTREMELY useful.

It allows for desktop viewing, full control, shell access, file transfers, and shut down.

Come to think of it...Windows xp pro does come with a free remote administration tool. As a matter of fact it wouldnt suprise me if win2k has it also. As digitalerror explained remote administrator in windows is awesome and provides all the same features as pc anywhere. the only difference is that remote administrator is free and all the client and server software is already installed and configured. Save yourself time and money and go with remote administration.

I'm not referring to Window's paltry attempt as system remote administration. I'm referring to: http://www.famatech.com/ which has made a program called Remote Administrator. It's fast, lightweight, and only requires a password. It can run undetected by the normal user. So you could even use it to spy on someone.

Dameware is the only remote tool you will ever need.
