yeah... total crap... i could deal with the banner adds... at least they were colorful... this vb wire crap takes up half the page... for stuff none of us care about
It stinks and I don't like it. But look on the bright side, at least we know that NeoCalendar has been released.
my prayers have been answered!Quote:

Wanted to give my opinion, it sucks. Definately worse than the banner at the top.
And it just happened in an instant. I hope this site's not going the way of VBWorld.
Yeah this blows chunks! The banners weren't that bad, but this is ugly.
ok so where do we send the complaints?
On the plus side, the pages load quicker than with the banner ads (at least so far.)
We wait. :D
Is there a possibility that a checkbox could be added in the User CP that says "I don't give a flying rat's ass about KaramaSoft, etc, etc, and I'd rather not know about it"?
to whomever you want to, because it doesnt really mather.....Quote:

they dont give **** about vbf users
It looks awful
Couldn't agree more. Who wants to leave and begin a new forum?
What happend to the good old days of a user run VBForums. Looks like the corporate devils win again:mad:
Is this some sort of Microsoft curse? First MS abandoned VB6, then VBWorld fell, and now this. Also: there's a banner ad at the bottom.
I have a suggestion:
put a banner at the top, one at the bottom, one on each side of the page, and one in each post.
Banner ads at the bottom of a page well below any useful information that users are looking for, below the point that any rational user would scroll too, so far down that 1/2 of us didn't know it was there until Osnr pointed it out...Quote:

Hey that's a great marketing strategy! Sell you unusable unwanted space to someone to display ads that no one will complain about because they don't ever see them.
Man - I wished I had thought of that!
But the VBWire news list at the top blows away all the benefit.
You know what is really great? All these live changes that are beeing made to the porduction VBForums IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY!! Wow, I wish I could do that when I make enhancements to production software!!
<sarcasm>
Yeah, we are the luckiest people in the whole world, it's so great that a VBWire news list which is very annoying is at the top of the page! Wow!
</sarcasm>
I don't know what you're all complaining about. I love to know interesting things like Hurricane Software Releases Hurricane Editor 3. :) It's just something that I am sure to click on! What the hell IS hurricane editor?
The best part about it is that I don't come here anymore except to complain in Forum feedback once in a while. :) Or when someone else links to a post here from Galah.net or GalahTech.
Have a nice day with your lovely VB Wire News superlinkagemobob.
I was going to complain, but everyone has done such a great job I don't think there's anything I can add.
oh no, no no no:D no mather how much we complain, it's not enough:D:DQuote:

by the way I'm impressed about the fact that the admins reply to EVERY single thread in the forum feedback section, including this one:rolleyes:
Who runs this crap now anyway?
internet.com or some crap like thatQuote:

VBWire provides stories related to Visual Basic. Because of this, it seems like it should be of interest to people who are at a Visual Basic discussion forum.
What has changed is that the big ads at the top have been changed to a different style of ad. This ad will appear to the right of the VBWire news. When there is not an ad, the VBWire news extends a bit to the right.
As to the 'dropping changes onto the live sytem' comment, the changes added today were actually placed on the forum several weeks ago for testing. We "lived" or "put into official product" the changes today.
That ugly crap that doesn't even use the styles of the rest of the site has been tested???? good jobQuote:

and if it is about visual basic, why not put it as a sticky thread in the vb forum...not the whole site?
welll they wanna make money, I'm ok with that. But at least dont be annoying like that!!!Quote:

Hey I am all for them making money. Put all the adds they want. But for God sake make the site look consistent. And don't tell me that crap was tested and approved. It looks like they did it in FrontPage :D
That stuff wasn't tested http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.p...69#post1317169
Actually it was done primarily in straight HTML. It likes like something got messed up in moving this to the live site.Quote:

What do you mean messed up moving to the live site. Look at any link posted this gets added <font face="verdana, arial, helvetica" size="2" > Your news stuff doesn't have it. That would not get lost moving to production now would it???
Why not have VB news in the General VB Forum, ASP news in the ASP forum, c++ news in the c++ forum, porn news in the chit chat forum, etc?
I suppose it could be worse:

Is the next change going to look like this?Quote:
