SmartBarXP BETA4

i just released a new version of my program. theres only a windows xp version at the moment, and you can get it here.

Wow, it's great-I hope that there will be a beta four version for users of Microsoft (R) Windows(R) 98 through to Windows(R) 2000?

Thanks Illspirit for working on a version for Windows 98-2000/ME-when will those vesions be ready?

well am hoping to release a beta4.1 version for both xp and 9x and 2k, which should be early next week all being well.:)

well the BETA4.1 XP version is available on the site now, but the 9X version is giving me errors on basic functions like Left, Mid, Instr, Replace, etc :eek: It just wont work! Ive been trying to sort it all day but ive gotten nowhere fast! i'll keep working on it, and i'll look around to see if i can find out why its doing this:(.

Well, I emailed him-about 98 support, if he can fix the eroors, it mayne be out in the nnext couply or days or next wekek (whio knows?).

I doubt you'll be able to get the nice transparencies, as, if I'm not mistaken, illsprit has done with SetLayeredAttributes and is an NT5 API call only... but with the AlphaBlend API, maybe. Am I correct, illsprit?

Illspirt, have you sorted ut the windows 9.x compilsation errors yet-and when would it come out for w 9.x?

Is it compatiable with WindowBlinds? =)

Yea, any 9x version wouldn't have transparency effects, i do use that function and its only for 2k/xp.

Have you asked for any helpon the issues on co,mpiling the 9.x version? Anyqay, could it be eleased a month or aso-thjen that would be enough tiome to fcix ny 9.x vrersiuon problems?

ok, theres a new version, BETA4.3, which MAY just work on non xp systems. I just tried it on windows 2000 and it loaded, although as I tested it i noticed a few glitches here and there.

If you're on a non-xp system, you get an error message during the installation. Close this error message and click 'ignore' on the following error. It should load then.

I dont have 9x installed anyway so i havent tried it on there yet:confused:

Illspirit, is your website down at the moment? it doesnt seem to load. and it isnt my net connection, coz im on a T3 connection at university.

I think the hosting is a bit crappy.. we're getting a lot of traffic at the moment and a few ppl are having trouble accessing it... its still up though :confused:

I'm working on getting better hosting at the moment, this problem is getting worse by the day.

Just thought I'd let you know I've just been to your smartbarxp site.

Hey, I Have a i dea-how would i intergrate or recreate the liooikod smartbar xp with this ss?

I've seen this project posted here before and every time I look at it I can't help but think how much it looks like the new side bar that is going to be in the new Windows Longhorn, there are M4 screen shots floating around in the net with the bar. Even the clock face graphics are the same!

lol, yeah. Although I hadnt seen this bar when I started this, I'd just heard someone talking about MS sideshow. Since I stated screenshots have been released of the LH bar and I've made a skin that matches it. The LH style clock was requested, as was most of the other things on there.

I havent used LH yet though, so I havent been able to compare the two bars. Its part of the reason this thing has seen so much interest though.:)
