requirements for asp .net

I'm want to learn create asp .net applications. So need to know what i need to buy. i'm running XP HE and VB.net Standard.

is your XP home edition consist the IIS server?
IIS Server and .Net Frame work SDK is Requited for Asp.net

sorry to say, XP Home Edition does not come with IIS, so you won't be able to use ASP.NET locally.

there is an alternative however. check out the small web server that comes with Web Matrix
