How much power does a desktop PC consume?
Hi M8
It depends on the power supply(PSU) in the case. You need to find what amount of WATTS it uses. Usually 300watt minimum is todays standard.
It's usually written on the side, so take a look and get back to me...
Regards,
Paul.
All I have written there is "2A" as in 2 Amps. I was hoping for some sort of an estimate.
This 300 Watt you mention, does it include the monitor as well?
Hi Again.
Nope, it doesn't include the monitor. The monitor is usually run of a seperate power source.
It has to say the total output on the PSU, unless the label has been removed.
Why do you need to know anyway? If you're worried about overloading your sockets, just make sure you're not going over 13 amps, you'll be fine.
I had a friend use 30 extensions off one socket, which is absolutely fine, providing you don't go OVER 13 amps.
I'm running two servers, and a 400watt system, 2 printers, 1 scanner, 2 sets of speakers, phone system, television booster & a fax machine from one socket. :D
OK, so the room gets upto around 105*F, but there you go ! lol

Paul.
Thanks... that's what I required. :)
