Help using access through VB

I have an application that connects to an Access 97 database.

I am using ADO and have the mdac 2.5 installed.

Them problem is I have used the JRO object for compacting the database, and since then if I try to access the database through Access 97 it displays a message box saying that the database is in an unrecognised format

Try a compact of the database through vb or jet. Or the Repair option from within Access, (sometimes this works if you pock your tongue out the right side of your mouth).

Failing that get yourself a copy of Access2000, which should load the damaged database up no problems.

Keep us informed....FYI always backup a database before processing it by third party tools:):):):):):)

I normally use the dbEngine Compact to do this but as I was useing ADO I thought I would try it the ADO way.
