Translating Text

I am wanting to write a program where I can enter a sentence from the command line where it will read the characters and translate it to something else based upon what I tell it to equal. Please respond if you can help me and you have either Yahoo Messenger, AIM, ICQ, or MSN Messenger as I will probably have lots of questions and dont want to have to reply tons of times.

What do you mean by "translate"?
