so how about the volume? (on speakers & in Windows)
if that's ok, has the sound-card been disabled in Windows? (see device manager in control-panel/system)
Volume is fine. Already checked the device manager. Everything is supposed be working. No conflicts, no missing or damaged drivers, and no errors. Just no sound.
ok, try another set of speakers (or use headphones).
if they don't work then try re-installing the driver & directx (in that order).
If you use winamp, open it, play a sound file, see if the EQ works, and if the progress bar keeps going.
If not, then you have a problem between the hardware and software, otherwise, if it does work, it's your speakers.
I got my sound back. I unplugged all the extras from the computer, the printer, scanner etc, then restarted the computer. The sound came back. I plugged everything back in and restarted again and still have sound.
Not sure why this worked.
Probably a loose connection.
