losers

Hi All,

As part of my occasional strolls through the general forum I was interested to see how a question about disabling the "close" button could attract so many responses. Thread starter is Dini.

If you go and read it ( http://forums.vb-world.net/showthrea...threadid=20929 ) i think you'll find that "Dini" has gone of completely half cocked. What is worse is that he/she/it continues to bate the people who are trying to help.

Oh I really love those "brave" <interpreted as spineless> people who hide behind the anonymity of the internet.

John <or anyone from the powers-that-be> surely there is some kind of punishment that can be issued to agressors like Dini on top of deleting the post. For example - Dini has about 50 posts - can this be set to -100 or something and the status changed from "member" to "loser member" or something like that.

I know that people can just go and create another account but either way they will have to build up their posts again. What do others think - it really annoys me seeing people like Dini around - Especially when the name Dini is only next to those posts posted by Dini. this is the height of hypocrisy <sp?>

I new here so I don't really know whats been going on but I had a look at the Chit Chit forum, boy what a bunch of serious losers. Batman, TesticleMole, Jetho, Sloburn, Denniswrenn talk about dicks. Get a life!!!

That's why it's a Chit Chat fourm. So people can screw around and have fun without being serious. As long as they are serious in all of the other fourms, it is fine with me.

You pose an interesting, yet true, comment, funkyd77. Dini should be punished in some way. Whether it's dropping her post count to 0 or suspending her for a month, I believe that something should be done about it.

Agree, In chitchat, you don't need to be serious but when you seem offensive in General Q/A it's a problem.

For the punishment, i i'm not sure wheather banning is good or not, you can always reregister. You could bann the ip, but would that be a good idea?

I have another suggestion. What if we block out people from writing profanity.

f*** = fudge
s*** = shoot

It will make these fourms less verbally violent.

yeah, I dont think anybody should be bi***ed at for messing around in the chitchat forum, but in any other forum, it needs to be handled.

If you have read my posts in here l think you would concur that l have modified my behaviour on this site. I agree with your sentiments however.

Dennis, Meg, and others

Sure the Chit Chat forum is for fun, and some serious discussions....but people are taking offense. It must be moderated for language, racism, sexism, etc. As well as for threads getting thrashed. And Dennis we are both guilty of doing that to jDavisons thread.

Look at the replies Gilly got when she complained about the Britney thread.

I think we can forgive Kyuss for his/her comments about Chit-Chat. They are only a new member and probably not up to speed yet on what is appropriate and where.

But my original message was about a thread in the general qa section - not chit chat - i'm not sure if people realised that from my initial post - maybe i didn't make it clear.

Megatron, i have also thought about the replacing of swear words <i feel like a kid - ooo...swear words!!> with other words. I think that could help.

I totally agree with Kedaman and Megatron. Chit Chat is chit chat. You don't have to switch to that channel. But I agree with Jethro too on the monitoring of the language, racism, sexism and don't forget religion.If people can't talk about this topics, lets take the CHIT CHAT out.

Just checked out some of the threads meantioned, some people clearly don't like people helping out. John should review this, your right it isn't the chit chat forum.

Glad you noticed. Am keeping off the chit chat forum for a couple of weeks to let things die down. Promise no more juvenile behaviour. As cool as a a cucumber...whatever that means.

I've been to several forums over the past 5 or 6
years, but this one is the best I've seen so far.
you've got goofballs in all of them it seems.

What I don't get is it seems like the goof balls
get alot more response than some of the people
that would really appreciate it alot more.

There are alot Great programmers in here from what
I've seen, and I personally don't take any of you
for granted.
