Nero Buffer Underrun

Hello Everyone:

I have upgraded from Nero 5.5.5.6 to 5.5.9.14. I still have a problem with buffer underrun! I have the problem with both versions. I have closed all open programs using Ctrl Alt Del, Except Exloyer?

Any ideas, Is there a program that might help me????

Try burning at a slower speed. That usually does the trick.

Disk Type & Speed

Hello Everyone:

I have tryed burning at 1X, It doesn't work?
My hard drive is listed as a Generic IDE disk type 47.

Hello Everyone:

I think that both of my CD drives are slaves? I think that they are both on the same cable, with the HD on another cable? The burner is a OTI-975 Socrates. In Nero its that "Buffer Underrun Protection Not Supported" Is there a option in Nero that can let me run this, Or maybe another program?

Is there a way to tell if my CD drives are slaves or masters without opening the computer?

I am trying to burn from the HD file c:\burn, It is buried to deep or on a network.

How old is your CDR drive? If its pre-1999 (or is it pre-1997...) you may have some problems.

They cannot both be slaves if they are on the same IDE cable. Whether or not "Buffer Underrun Protection" is supported depends on your burner, not Nero. What OS are you running?

If you have the hard drive space, copy the data to a partition on your hard disk. Then burn from the hard disk.

I have a partition I use for holding data to be burned. It always works like a charm.

I think you could use a directory instead of a partition, but you should defrag first if you go this route.

BTW: If you have one big hard disk partition, you should buy or borrow Partition Magic and break it into several partitions.

Primary IDE Slave None
Secondary IDE Master OTI-975 Socrates
Secondary IDE Slave Atapi CDrom
