hi friends,
just would like to ask a simple question. how does one know the DOS version one is using?
(and do you know a good resource for complete DOS commands/functions?)
thanks!

Give this site a look: http://www.computerhope.com/msdos.htm
Usually when dos boots it shows the version.
Use the ver command
that's right, just type ver at the command prompt!

alex, check your pms in a min
thanks, guys.
but. like if i have an MS-Windows NT or 2000 system, will i be able to know which DOS version I am using?
i could be wrong but when i type ver command at the prompt, it only shows me the Windows system version not the DOS version...
good day !
It shows what it is operating under and i beleve the other value is your dos version
thank you.
in windows 2000, it shows the 'dos version' enclosed in square brackets.
but in windows nt version 4.0, i think it does not reveal the dos version.
hmmmm
Sorry i have never used NT 4.0 but it certainly returns a Value in Windows 98
NT or 2000 does not have DOS, just an emulator. cmd.exe has nothing to do with DOS, it's a full Win32 App.Quote:
