Well.
This morning I opened up our server, and it was very dusty.
So I decided to get out the hoover, and hoover the inside.
The server won't boot now.
Uhn. I'm in trouble
... but more importantly, I'm hungry. So I'm off to mcdonalds :)

Bring us a MegaMac while you're there...Ta.
oops... you should've used one of those super low-power jobbies... chances are you've sucked up a jumper or two
Wash the processor and RAM with soap and water while you're at it. :)
We had a customer send a machine back saying it wasn't working. When we opened everthing was covered in mud.
They had a flood then tried to make the machine look ok by cleaning the outside. They must think we are stupid or something.
I can visualise Jamie at the moment, desperately searching through the emptied contents of a vacuum cleaner's bag :p
Excuses, excuses Jamie :p
it actually worked for me once. washed the motherboard and then put it in the sun to dry... never had a problem with it since thenQuote:

Let me guess: you never actually used the computer, and therefore, technically, it never gave you problems.Quote:

I think you meant washboard :D
lol.. im serious... u just need to make sure there is no static charges left in it... once that is done... a good wash is very helpful. It removes the dust. Dust contains moisture which conducts and could cause a short circuit or fuzzy performance. Washing it gets rid of it... but of course, u have to make sure that its thoroughly dried before switching on the power again. :)Quote:
