hi!
i have q question
i formmated my compuetr and put win98se on him
but the computer didnt find my modem (rockwell mdp3858u) so
i download the driver from the site www.drivershq.com
and install the modem
but when i try to connect to internat the modem popup a message "the modem doesnt response"
why? what i did wrong?
is there anything else to do when i install the modem?
the same with my sound card ?
IT DOSENT RECORDNIZE THE SOUNDCARD AFETR I INSTALL IT(WITH THE DRIVER)
Have you checked the status of the modem and soundcard under device manager? Does it say there are any problems? What program are you trying to use to get on the internet?

Modems can be vary difficult, esp. internal. Get the FCC id off of the modem(if internal you will need to look on the board itself) and do a search on driverguide.com. Look at various posts, look for ones that match your modem, and have positive feedback meaning that the driver is probably correct.
Completely remove any modem drivers you have installed from the device manager by using the System icon in the control panel, and start over. If Windows detects the modem and asks for drivers, then browse to the folder containing the drivers you downloaded (most downlaoded drivers need to be unzipped first with winzip, etc.). If they won't take, sometimes you can 'Add New hardware' and choose 'Other Devices' to force it to load the driver. make sure your modem is not installed as a com port, and check your modem with the diagnostics under the modem icon in the control panel.
Really, you need to post a step be step with Windoze messages, this will give everyone more info...:D
