How can i run application from ASP

Hi,

I want to run application on client side from ASP when user visits webpage ( not only in NT but also in win98, I know how to run shell in NT but i don't know how to run app. in win98 )

Is it possible to run app. in both NT & win98 ?

if this is not possible than is there any way to add key in registry or like that which works in both NT & 98
